Understanding Donald: How Trump and his pal Elon Musk aren’t being straight with you
Former Republican spokesman Tim Miller says what the White House is doing now is “completely haphazard and it’s against the law.” Miller says the GOP’s priorities are not really about cutting fraud or inefficiency. He says the 2026 Republican budget ADDS 800 billion dollars to the deficit, even after what Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” has claimed to cut. Miller says their whole concept of government efficiency is a joke, because…
- maybe people who were laid off will get their jobs back,
- maybe they’ll be put on administrative leave, or
- maybe they won’t be put on administrative leave. And THEN…
- “they’ll get lawyers and go to court,…and our government is gonna end up having to pay them anyway.”
Tim Miller warns that this would include back pay for illegal dismissals, AND “paying all the lawyers that they’re gonna need to defend their illegal firings”. As he puts it, “the whole boondoggle is going to end up costing America more money than it saves. The whole thing is just ridiculous, all the way down.”
